Surgeries

Appointments commence at 8.00am – but not for all clinicians. This is subject to change in the event of annual leave or study leave. Appointments can be pre-booked up to 4 weeks in advance subject to availability.

Half of all the day’s appointments are kept for booking on the day only – this is in response to our patients’ requests. Please phone as near to 8.00am as possible if you need to be seen that day and please note that you may not always see your own GP or be able to select a time.

Contact reception to register to use this sytem.  Please note if you forget your password, you will need to re-appy to use the system, as we are unable to issue password reminders.

Emergencies

Monday mornings remain dedicated to urgent appointments – you can also request to be seen on the day you request (see above). If you need to be seen, please tell the receptionist and she will add you into a surgery – you may not been seen by your own GP or be able to specify a time.  

Pre-Bookable Appointments

There are pre-bookable appointments available to book one month in advance, but these do get taken very quickly.  We have also introduced a number of appointments that are released 24 / 48 hours in advance - these may not be with your normal doctor.

Stop Press:

From mid May 09 the three Partners will be offering an additional three hours of pre-bookable appointments per week between them.

These appointments will replace the recent Saturday surgeries and are designed primarily for those patients who need to see a Doctor before or after work.  Please note these are limited and there will not be a choice of GP on a particular day.

Wed 6.30 - 7.20pm Dr Campling

Fri 7.30 -7.50am Dr Beesley

Please note that the telephones will NOT be manned at these times and nor will the surgery be open for routine enquiries.  When a Partner is on annual leave, these appointments will not be covered by one of the remaining Partners.

PLEASE NOTE APPOINTMENTS FOR THE DAY WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL 8AM, WHEN THE TELEPHONES ARE SWITCHED OVER

Home Visits

Please come to the surgery if you are able to as all facilities are to hand. If however you are too ill to travel you may ask for a visit by phoning reception. The doctor will discuss matters with you by telephoning you by return.

It helps us a great deal if a request for a home visit is received by us before 10.30 am although we realise this is not always possible.

Please note that the receptionist will ask for details as to why you need the visit - this is to help the doctor to prioritise their workload.

Please be aware that it will be the Duty Doctor who makes the visits, so you won't necessarily see your normal doctor

Test Results

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

Please also note that test results are given out after 3pm in the afternoon, as the telephone lines are very busy in the morning.
