Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions cannot be taken over the telephone, as this can lead to mistakes with specific wording and dosage. It is important for us to eliminate the possibility of error, this safeguards you as the patients.
This change is in line with other local practices. Repeat prescriptions will be processed in 2 working days. We will take repeat prescriptions over the telephone for patients who are immobile/housebound or terminally ill,
A box is available in the reception area for repeat prescriptions to be placed in.
URGENT Requests
If you have run out of your medication and need it urgently, please speak to reception, who will seek to obtain a prescription for you to collect between 18:00 -18:30pm. Please also note that if you have spoken to a GP on the telephone and they are issuing a prescription for you, that will be ready for collection between these times too.
Warfarin Tablets
If you are ordering your warfarin medication, then we need your anti-coagulant book in, so as we can take a copy of your last result. This is to ensure that the correct medication is being given, as the hospital still retain the responsibility of dosing for patients, but have passed the responsibility for prescribing to the GPs now. A prescription will not be issued without the yellow book, or a photocopy of your last result.
Online Prescriptions
This is for routine prescription requests only, as the mailbox will only be checked once a day. Please do not send any medical questions via this form.
